British Gas customers Click for WebSaver 1

Is WebSaver 1 an early Christmas present for British Gas customers? WebSaver 1 is the cheapest online tariff, for now…

British Gas hit the energy news headlines again this week, with the launch of its new online gas and electricity price plan, WebSaver 1.

A successor to the popular Click Energy 6 tariff, the energy giant’s new price plan, now the cheapest available online, promises customers a saving of at least £146 compared to its standard tariff.

The new tariff features paperless billing, and customers will still be entitled to a £77 discount if they pay by monthly direct debit, as well as the £14 dual fuel discount.

The Click Energy 6 replacement tariff is available online to both new and existing customers, although customers already on the old energy price plan will not be automatically moved across to the new tariff.

So, my household’s energy battle continues. Should we switch, or should we stay on Click Energy 6?

Well if gas and electricity prices do drop, following a reduction in wholesale costs for the energy providers, then WebSaver 1 may actually prove profitable…
